Despair has never penetrated the heart of Saleh Khalil Hijazin "Abu Tariq", who is seventy years old and he is looking for a high school diploma to write him success this year, after 6 attempts, the first of which began in 1973.

Abu Tariq, who was born in the town of Summakia in the Karak governorate, told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) from his place of residence in the city of Aqaba in the south of the Kingdom, with the Ministry of Education announcing the results of the high school exam for the year 2021, that he was at the top of his happiness for his success in high school after he was the only one from His family and brothers who did not obtain a scientific degree, and he reached it after 48 years of multiple attempts.

And he indicated that today he obtained a rate that moves him to another stage of his scientific and academic life, which he always loved, and he tried several times to overcome it, and the curricula have changed completely, as the mathematics book was very simple, but today it reaches about two hundred pages, indicating that he did not use any private teacher for that and relied on his studies and what his children explain to him.

He added that his first attempt to pass the high school exam was in 1973, where he applied for the scientific branch and did not succeed, then he tried again in 1979 and chose the literary branch, but he did not get a mark of success, and he tried again in 1981 and then in 1990 in the same literary branch and he was not successful . Abu Tariq states that in 2003 he and his son applied to high school, but he did not succeed, but his son succeeded, which he is preparing today a doctorate in agricultural engineering in Germany, while his attempts stopped at the year 2003.

He indicated that, at the beginning of his working life, he took a course in the mechanics of large locomotives, then worked in the Hijaz railway, then moved to work in Ma'an and then to Aqaba Governorate, then moved to the port until he retired in 2010. He pointed out that he had five sons, including three males and two daughters, all of whom obtained certificates, and tried to stand with him repeatedly to obtain high school and pass this stage that may open the field of university study for him, whether by studying a community college for two years and then bridging to the university, or repeat and raise the rate, adding that he will not stop seeking knowledge throughout his life.

The Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Mohammad Abu Qaddis, announced the results of the general secondary school certificate for all scientific branches, this morning, Monday, during a press conference in which he showed the success rates for each branch and the names of the top students in the Kingdom. Abu Qaddis indicated that the general success rate in the general secondary examination for the year 2021 was 60.8 percent.
