213 citizens from Irbid governorate benefited from the "Aman" ('safety' in English) Initiative, organized by the Leadership and Development Association, a charity organization, in partnership with CARE International.
The initiative, which ended on Sunday, aimed at raising awareness among the community about gender and the role of women.
During field visits, the initiative's team explored the views of the community on ways to enhance the social and economic role of women.
At its closing session, which was held with the participation of a number of local institutions and international organizations, the attendees discussed the role of civil society institutions in enhancing the women's role in society.
The participants presented a set of recommendations eyeing to boost women programs and enhance their role in all areas.
To push action ahead, the initiative's team is now preparing a detailed report on the community recommendations and institutions to address some of the issues facing women.
