Jordan's Ambassador to Canada Rima Ala'a Al Deen inaugurated the Jordanian pavilion participating in the 2019 edition of SIAL exhibition, which is organized by the Jordan Exporters Association (JEA) and financed by the USAID Jordan Competitiveness Program (JCP).
The envoy lauded the JEA's efforts to boost trade exchange between Jordan and Canada, and allow national goods to enter the Canadian market, as well as the advanced level and high quality of the Jordanian industry and its capability to compete alongside other goods.
In a press statement on Sunday, she said Jordan is a key partner of Canada, noting the two countries have "historic" ties that began six decades ago.
Alaa Al Deen noted the two countries are keen on spreading the values of compassion, tolerance, mutual respect, justice and adherence to human rights.
The pavilion includes 10 companies specializing in the food packaging industries, she added.
During the ceremony, she affirmed the bilateral free trade agreement is the only agreement Canada signed with countries in the region, adding it allows Canadian businesspeople to reach Jordanian markets and attract traders.
For his part, JEA's Chairman Omar Abu Washah pointed to various activities the association is organizing to promote Jordanian exports, adding the JEA will continue to help Jordanian companies from various industrial sectors to achieve success in the export markets.
He commended the JIC and the JCP for their support.
