AND reports 4,700 cases of drug dealing, abuse in 2019

The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) has dealt with 4,700 cases of drug dealing and abuse during crackdowns across the Kingdom in the first quarter of 2019, AND Director Anwar Tarawneh said on Tuesday.

During a session in Karak, Tarawneh said several officers fell in the line of duty and many others were injured, noting that drug dealers are violent criminals who have little or no regard for human life.

He pointed to reasons behind the spread of narcotic drugs, and increase of abuse among youth, stressing that the AND focuses on preventative and curative measures.
